Color Correction Concealer! The Three Cs and the Know How!

Maybe you have heard of colour correcting and maybe you haven't! Thats ok because i will give you the low down on colour correcting and the how what, why and where...

Its something i learnt at beauty college doing my course in makeup as the title "camouflage"
Camouflage because colour correcting is suppose to camouflage imperfections and achieve a flawless skin result.

The assessment that i was challenged with at beauty college was to cover/camouflage a tattoo, which was pretty hard in achieving because there was multiple colours! so unless you want to attempt that on a small tattoo, say on your wrist, i would go for a waterproof, maybe dermablend instead of your average colour correcting so its non transferable.

Anyway down to the low- Unless you have really bad, uneven skin tone, acne, birth mark etc you probably wont need to colour correct everyday. But something that we all share in common are dark under eye circles or because the skin is so sensitive around our eyeballs we can get discoloration. Usually in the form of blue- purple veins/tones for pale to medium skintones and for medium to darker skintones a brown hue of discoloration.

And in saying that we all tend to share uneven skin tone! But for an overall correcting, using a CC cream under foundation may do the trick! CC cream being correcting cream. Like BB cream but mainly for correcting and not treating for blemishes. (more on that later)

I'm now going to let you know what each colour corrector is for and its purpose!

In a concealer pallet you usually get all these colours for correcting ( i have added links to each which are pretty much the best ive come across for colour correcting as single buys!)

Yellow- Corrects Purple- Useful to those who have purple bags under eyes or lids purple in tone and can also be used as a highlighter on medium- dark skin with yellow undertones.

Peach/Salmon- Corrects Blue- Useful to those who have blue veins or blue coloured under eye bags or lids.

Green- Corrects Red- can correct red areas such as blemishes, near the nose, broken red veins

White- Brightening or Highlighter

Ok so we understand what colours correct what, but how then do you get rid of the green that covers your blemish? or get rid of the yellow under your eyes?

Simply use another concealer close to your foundation colour over the top of the green or yellow lightly to bring the colour back to your tone, if that makes any sense!

and you should then have full coverage!

Dont forget to dab with a powder brush with the setting powder over the area to set it also, this will make sure it wont budge!

Here are the best pallets i recommend if you want to go all out on the colour correcting!

Best Quality Precision Makeup Brushes On A Budget!

Recently I've been searching around for a brand new set of makeup brushes to add to my kit!
I went through so many makeup brush websites searching for decent priced makeup brushes that wouldn't blow my budget. Skeptical about getting too cheap makeup brushes, as you never really know what type of hair or synthetics they use, which may irritate skin or bristles will be all over the clients face!
Cheaper brushes will fall apart over time due to the cheap glue (i think we've all been there, thinking were getting a good buy off eBay)

Anyway! I eventually found my dream set of brushes, which came with something i have always wanted!
A brush belt! Yes you heard right! The makeup brushes come with a brush belt! Together!
I couldn't believe my luck when i stumbled across the Sedona Lace website!

I purchased the Vortex Professional Makeup Brush Set With Zipper Belt!
Yes the belt zips up! so your brushes wont fall out and you don't have to keep switching belt to case!
There is the option of getting the belt without the zip, but i really liked the zipper option as your brushes are safe and can be kept dust free!

Now get to the brushes! In short, they are amazing! You get 13 makeup brushes which is more than enough for a starter or for a pro.

You get

1.Jumbo Fan Brush- Used for Contour, Powder & Fallout
